Three suspects arrested for murder of Malamulele comedian Skeem Mafenya

MALAMULELE: Three suspects aged between 17 and 23 have been arrested in connection with the murder of popular Malamulele comedian and content creator Khadziyane Ndivhuwo, popularly known as Skeem Mafenya.

The 20-year-old was fatally stabbed at Madonsi Boltman B in the Malamulele policing area in the Vhembe District in the early hours of Saturday, 17 October 2026.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, the suspects were arrested on Saturday afternoon following an intelligence-driven operation in the area.

Police said they received a report at approximately 03:35 about a person lying motionless inside a yard at Madonsi Boltman B.

Upon arrival, officers found Ndivhuwo lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to his upper body. Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene and certified him dead.

It is alleged that a community member heard a knock at the door and, upon looking through a window, noticed a man bleeding profusely.

The motive for the killing remains unknown.

The three suspects are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court soon, where they will face a charge of murder.

Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers condemned the killing and welcomed the arrests.

Scheepers said police would closely monitor the case to ensure that the suspects are held accountable through the criminal justice system.

“We commend the swift response by the police that led to the arrest of the three suspects. We will monitor this case closely to ensure that the suspects are held accountable for the senseless killing through the criminal justice system,” said Scheepers.

The arrests follow the killing of a young content creator who was known by his stage name, Skeem Mafenya.
