Media Statement CAPE TOWN – Following the tragic incident where seven people were shot and killed in Bishop Lavis on Thursday evening, the SAPS WC multidisciplinary tracing team worked through the night and arrested three suspects aged 17, 24 and 29. During the tracing operation, a firearm was also confiscated. It has been sent for ballistic testing to determine if it was utilised in the commission of any crimes. The suspects are facing murder, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm charges. They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday. On a preventative front, additional deployments that were assigned last night to Bishop Lavis, will remain in the area in efforts to stabilise the area. They will conduct patrols, high density operations and raids. Meanwhile investigations into another mass shooting in Atlantis continue. No arrests have been effected yet. Ends
