Three arrested for possession of a hijacked vehicle

NGANGELIZWE – A quick response by police (Mthatha District Task Team, Flying Squad, K9) together with a local security company after being informed about to a hijacked vehicle (Toyota Bakkie) in Mthatha Circus Triangle on Thursday, 20 March 2025 at about 16:30, led to the arrest of three male suspects aged between 35 – 37 years in Tyumbu locality, Mthatha.

The vehicle’s tracker system led police to Tyumbu locality and they spotted the hijacked vehicle with three male occupants which were all arrested and charged at Ngangelizwe police station for possession of a hijacked vehicle. Suspects will appear before Mthatha Magistrate Court on Monday, 24 March 2025.

OR Tambo District Commissioner, Major General Norman Modishana applauded all the police involved for their swift reaction to the hijacking which led to the arrest of the three male suspects.
