Media Statement GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT – Intricate investigation into a robbery at a prominent super market in Knysna ensured that three accused are heading to court. The accused are appearing in the Knysna Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 09 April 2025, on charges related to business robbery and carjacking. Investigation into the incident revealed that on Tuesday, 25 February 2025 at about 07:00, two armed gunmen forcefully entered the shop in Long Street, Knysna. They then gained entry to an on-site office where they took an undisclosed amount of cash. They hijacked a vehicle in the parking area and fled the scene. This vehicle was later found abandoned at White Location in Knysna. A manhunt was launched leading to the arrest of two men and a woman in the Eastern Cape. The police confiscated two firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash found in the possession of the accused during their arrest. The accused aged 22, 36 and 46, are scheduled to appear in court for a formal bail application, following their first appearance on 03 April 2025 during which they were remanded in custody. Ends
