Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has once more warned the community particularly Social Clubs against carrying lumps some of cash to avoid being victims of crime. This appeal comes against the back drop of house robbery incident on Monday night. A 54-year-old female victim fell victim of a house robbery involving a social club money at Strydkraal Block A village under the Sekhukhune District on Monday 09 December 2024 at about 22:00. Preliminary investigations revealed that the members of a local social club held a meeting at the victim’s residence to discuss how they are going to distribute their hard earned money at about 15:00. The meeting concluded at approximately 19:00 and the members of the social club departed to their homes and left the victim with her teenage daughter. At about 22:00, three unknown male suspects instantly broke into her house and robbed a substantial amount of cash belonging to the social club and later locked the two victims inside one of the bedrooms before fleeing the scene on foot. The two victims were later rescued by a relative and the matter was reported to the police. Police have opened a case of house robbery following the incident and a manhunt of the three male suspects is ongoing. Anyone with information that can assist with their apprehension is encouraged to contact the Investigating Officer Captain Michael Thobejane on 082 414 2415 or crime stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPS App.
Police investigations are continuing.
