Following the widespread news circulating on social media that Mbabane Highlanders AM Chairman Andile Mpisane has hung up his boots, the club has issued a statement refuting those claims.
In a statement released by the club, the t am said it was not true that Mpisane has hung up his boots.

“Mbabane Highlanders has taken note of the widespread reports circulating in the media suggesting that Andile Mpisane who also serves as the club’s chairman has retired from retired from professional football. The club wishes categorically clarify that these reports are incorrect.
“Andile Mpisane has not retired. Following the injury sustained early this season. The club has received a detailed prognosis advising that he should only resume full training no earlier than April 2026. By that stage, the current competitive season would be nearing its conclusion,” the statement reads.
The statement further reads that in light of this medical guadiance and after careful consideration club’s immediate sporting objectives and regulatory options, the management resolved to deregister Andile for the remainder of current season.
“This decision was taken to create space within the club’s foreign player quota, allowing for the registration of a player quota, allowing for the registration of another player who can contribute immediately as the team pushes towards its targets for the remainder of the season.
“Andile remains the active player and his situation will be reviewed ahead of the next campaign. The club remains hopeful for a full recovery, he will be in a position to return to the playing squad in the future,” the statement reads.
