Media Statement FREE STATE – The Welkom based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) detectives are looking for two males as depicted in the attached photo. Detectives believe the males can shed light on a robbery that has occurred in Odendaalsrus on Saturday, 05 April 2025. A crew of three guards were performing their cash collection duties at a wholesale business in Odendaalsrus when they were accosted by about four armed suspects who disarmed them of their work firearms. The assailants exchanged gun fire with the driver of the armoured cash delivery vehicle before fleeing the scene in a silver hatchback Mercedes-Benz with Free State registration number. There were no fatalities or injuries reported as a result of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Captain Serake Modisadife on 071 481 2722.
