THABONG – Members attached to the Thabong Crime Prevention Unit held a special operation which led to numerous successes on Sunday, 25 August 2024, in Thabong. While conducting crime prevention duties, members spotted a suspicious African male between 2010 and Monnahalatwe informal settlement. Sergeant Sabata Mosia and Sergeant Phantsi Nale stopped and searched the suspect and he was found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The 42-year-old suspect was then arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal possession of ammunition. During the operation, more suspects were arrested for crimes, including 11 for drinking in public, four for drug-related offences, three for possession of dangerous weapons and one for contravention of the Immigration Act. We will continue to ensure residents of Thabong are and feel safe by removing illegal firearms from the streets. Members were applauded for the excellent work done.
