Ongoing Conflict
The deadly back-and-forth between Iran and Israel shows no signs of slowing. In the early hours of Friday, Israeli forces launched strikes deep into Iranian territory, targeting nuclear facilities, military zones, and areas where civilians live. Iran has since responded with a barrage of drones and ballistic missiles aimed at Israel.
Heavy Toll on Civilians
The human cost is mounting on both sides. Overnight, at least 10 people in Israel lost their lives in Iran’s retaliatory strikes. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attacks, warning that Iran would face “a very heavy price” for the bloodshed.
Iranian officials report an even greater toll from the Israeli strikes—128 people have been killed, according to state-run media. However, due to tight media restrictions inside Iran, international journalists are unable to verify these numbers on the ground.
Calls for Change
From exile, Iran’s former crown prince Reza Pahlavi told the reporters that this crisis reveals cracks in Iran’s leadership. He believes the regime is vulnerable, and that the Iranian people may now have a rare chance to rise up.
