Media Statement GAUTENG – On 06 February 2025, the team of Operation Vala Umgodi followed up on information about explosives at Daveyton. Upon arrival at the identified address, the members conducted a search and they recovered a lot of different colour cables lying around and other things that were not known to them of which an officer from explosives came and identified them as explosives. The suspect informed them that he ordered it from a lady in Benoni and if he called her she would come. The lady was called and when she arrived her vehicle was searched and the exact cables were found in her car. Both suspects were arrested for possession of explosives. On a separate incident, on the same day, the team arrested another suspect also found in possession of explosives in his bag. All three arrested suspects are expected to appear before court soon on charges of possession of explosives. Ends
