Doctors performed a Mohs procedure, a common technique that carefully removes layers of skin until no cancer cells remain. Biden, now 82, was seen with a small wound on the right side of his head following the treatment.

This isn’t the first time Biden has faced skin concerns—he had a cancerous lesion removed from his chest during a routine check in 2023, and in May he shared publicly that he’d been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

“Cancer touches us all,” Biden wrote at the time. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”

Before his presidency, he also had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed. Since leaving office in January, Biden has largely stepped away from public life, making only occasional appearances.

The fight against cancer has been personal for the Bidens. Their son Beau died in 2015 after battling brain cancer, inspiring the family’s long-standing advocacy for cancer research and treatment.
