Suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi and Ekurhuleni city manager Kagiso Lerutla are appearing at the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Thursday for their formal bail application.

The two were arrested over the weekend and face Schedule 5 charges including fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice. The State is expected to oppose bail as the high-profile matter returns to court.
