Kabza De Small has been accused of deceiving his loyal fans by failing to show up at a scheduled event, leaving attendees disappointed and angry.

Real name Kabelo Motha, Kabza failed to honour jis booking at Owners Office in Durban on Sunday where he was scheduled to perform.

Instead, Kabza penned a letter through his representative Lawk Communications that unforeseen circumstamces were the reason he did not make it.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances out of my control I was unable to perform at Owners Office, Durban, scheduled for the 8th of March 2026.

“I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the event organizers, their sponsors and to my supporters and truly appreciate your understanding.

We are committed to working with the promoters to find a suitable alternative date for my performances. I hope to see you all soon!,” he wrote.

Real name Sphesihle Mkhize from Kranskop in KwaZulu Natal (KZN), Dj Sphera was raised by his grandmother in the villages of Kranskop.

“Growing in the villages taught me alot of things and I am grateful that I spent most of my young years with my grandmother who made sure that I respect people no matter the age. She taught me manners on how to speak to people which are the values that I’m using till this day,” he said.

Sphera is now  new in the music industry as his first break was in 2016 when he first released his single titled “Hamba Kini”. A follow up single called “Izintombi Zo-Dj” which was released in 2017 took his name yo greater height as many people in his hometown began noticing his talent.

” I won’t say it was easy but this when I realized that music can take me to places that I have never thought I will be. This is when I started getting offers of being a resident Dj in places like KwaManana, Freedom Center and Mzi Lounge. I made the most of it because while I was playing I taught myself to be an event organizer.

“I have also served as a resident Dj and radio personality at Ukhahlambha FM, Emzini Lounge and Laronda Pub. I have now moved up the ladder as now I’m working in Durban where I’m a resident Dj at Kokos Bar and Grill, Cotton Pub and The Joint,” he said.

Sphera said he is already in studio and his plans on his upcoming projects is to work with Producer Thukuthela, Shimza, Mawhoo and Dj Mpiloz.

Sphera has a hit single out titled I’m Away where she features Zama Ziie.

“Three Step music is the game changer and Afro Tech House music. This is the future and that type of music will you straight to the biggest stages on earth. Once we finalized everything in terms of paperwork we shall do features and my next stop is Gauteng before moving abroad. Zama Zie is one of the talented musicians from Escourt and working with her was mind blowing.

“I’m a Christian and I believe that everything happens for a reason. Music heals my soul especially that every time I’m playing I think a lot about my daughter who passed away last year June. I haven’t healed yet and sometimes I so wish that someone can wake me up and tell it is just a dream. At the same time I have taught myself that acceptance is the way,” he said.

Bossiie is a well-travelled born South African musician, DJ, and Radio presenter who grew up in Pretoria and Thokoza where she attended a boarding school in Rosslyn, Pretoria, and moved to Kenton Primary School in Brackenhurst, Alberton.

“During my time at Rosslyn and Kenton, I participated in musical theatre and dance, while also auditioning for commercials and television shows. I embarked on my journey as a rapper, releasing tracks like “Wild Up In Here” featuring Jammtyme. I then taught myself how to create and sell beats across genres, including RnB/Soul Trap, Trap, and Drill. I sold beats in London and Europe, the likes of my drill beat that was used by a French rapper NKP.

“Thereafter, I honed my skills at producing, mixing, and recording at SAE Institute and the University of Westminster in London. I later taught myself to DJ and started getting gigs within two weeks. My DJing, Presenting, and Podcasting abilities and knowledge were further polished at Point Blank Music School in London. I worked at Rinse FM as well as featured as an Amapiano Specialist, Subtle Radio, with my

Authentic Amapiano Xperience show. I am now working at Soho Radio on the Loko Effect as a co-host and DJ,” she said.

Bossie told Mdn News that in her life she has stayed in multiple countries overseas including Italy, Croatia, Belgium, Scotland and now London.

“I moved to Europe with my family, we lived for a short period of time in Italy, and then moved to Croatia, where we lived for a considerable amount of years. We then moved to Belgium, where I studied at the American private school in Waterloo. I then moved with the family from Belgium to the UK in Scotland, and moved from Scotland to London after a few years. I have been living in London, England, ever since.

Bossiie said the Amapiano music is very big in London as it is well received.

“The reception of Amapiano here in London is tremendous; people love it, but they do not understand it as much as they understand other genres. There is also a small community of South African people in London who are also pushing Amapiano. So, it’s a winning battle in pushing this genre here.”

She further said: “The people who really love the sound are mainly Zimbabweans in London, the Nigerian communities, and the UK underground scene has also created its own sub-genre of Amapiano. Tribal house has a sub-genre of London’s interpretation of house music, mixing the melting pot of London underground culture music with elements of Gqom, Afrohouse and Amapiano, which is on the 115 – 123bpm.”.

Bossiie has done a feature with MFR Souls and together they have two songs titled “Porsche” and “Covid Blues”.

“I come from Thokoza and the MFR Souls guys are from Katlehong. It was a question of knowing someone who knows somebody, that type of thing. What seals it all is that the three of us have similar names and the two gentlemen’s names are Tumelo ‘Tumi’, and my name is also Tumi.

“My Manager contacted MFR souls from London and that is when ‘Porsche’ and ‘Covid Blues’ were born. Porsche did not get much publicity, but Covid Blues is still loved all over the world. It is played and loved in countries that I never expected them to listen to it, the likes of Mexico and Brazil, and it was also featured on Channel O for a while,” she said.

Bossiie said rejection from the promoters and deejays in the industry pushed her to work hard to be where she is now.

“I was inspired by the rejection and the amount of ‘NO’s that I got whenever I was reaching out to DJ’s to play my songs. Most importantly, a stranger in the crowd sealed the inspiration. It was in December 2021, and I was performing my song, Porsche at Kings Bulls in Barking, London, UK. The man with a very distinct, pleasant accent was cheering me on with his friend.

“When I was done with the performance, he approached me carefully and said, “May I just say, how beautiful that performance was, South African Queen. You should consider djing. The man saw something in me that I was not aware of. The next day, I picked up a controller and started djing, and got gigs within two weeks of teaching myself to DJ, Amapiano,” she said.

She further said that currently she is pushing her latest project called Bossiie Bday 2.0.

“I am currently engaged in a project that showcases one of my singles, “Bossiie Bday 2.0,” featuring South African artist Th4ndo, along with my other single, “Dutch Courage.” This project is filled with uplifting instrumentals, catchy drums perfect for dancing and memorable vocals,” she said.

Real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, Black Coffee opened his arms and donated uniforms and school shoes at Thabisang Primary School in Orlando West in Soweto in Johannesburg on Friday.

The initiative was done by his Black Coffee Foundation which was aimed launching their 2026 Back to School campaign.

“We supported learners with full school uniforms and school shoes; helping them step into the academic year with confidence and pride.This initiative is about more than clothing. It’s about restoring dignity, strengthening community and investing in the future, one learner at a time.

Thabisang Primary School learners didn’t just get uniforms and shoes, they walked into the year with pride and purpose.

• The Black Coffee also launched the Gift of Sight.

• Gift of Sight helped the learners to see clearly.

“This initiative focuses on early detection and intervention, ensuring that learners with vision challenges are identified and supported before it affects their long-term academic journey. Education should never be limited by something as preventable as poor eyesight.

“We’re proud to be implementing this programme directly where it makes the biggest difference in schools, within communities,” said the foundation.

The back to school campaign was launched together with Gautrain.

The former Icora FM radio presenter who is now based in New York City in the United States of America, Masta Soul his journey in the radio broadcasting and deejaying has not been easy.

“Honestly speaking it took me to have passion to what I do and to believe in myself that I can far with my talent. My last radio presenting gig was with Icora FM back home and if an opportunity arises here, I will grab with both hands. My first love is Deejaying, followed by radio,” he said.

Masta Soul said that he began being a deejay back in 2005.

“After having tried my luck back at home to be booked in different clubs, I took a decision that changed my life. I left everything behind and moved to Johannesburg to pursue my dream and that did not work out too,” said the Soulful House Dj.

Masta Soul said: “In 2023 I decided to travel to the USA to my other friends who are based that side who managed to convince me that things were happening in New York. Few months down the line I found myself a job in one of the College’s where I teach music and Deejaying. From there I never looked back.

“New York City has become my home away from home. Recently I was signed by the biggest PR company called Anyone Music. The company manages many artists across the world which has given me platform to travel around Europe to perform,”he said.

Masta Soul said that at the moment he is working with different labels especially in Europe and America where he just released EP titled as “Another Dimension” where he did original version and his friend Teboho Nkone did the remix.

“I will be releasing another upcoming single that is set to drop on the 19th of December titled “Wipe Your Mouth” under 2Phonic Recordings based in Madrid in Spain,” he said.

After spending over five years in the United States of America (USA) chasing his dream of becoming a deejay, Dj Mpiloz has decided to return back home and open his Ikhaya Shisanyama and Carwash business.

Real name Philani Manyoni, the Pholisa hitmaker recently returned from the USA where he left behind his Irish born fiance in order to pursue his other business interest in South Africa.

Speaking to MDN, Dj Mpiloz said that opening the Ikhaya Shisanyama and Carwash was a dream come true for him.

‘Ikhaya is a Zulu word which means home. I wanted to build something that will always remind me where home is at. With the Shisanyama and Carwash business, I will be able to spend time in the USA and also come back to check on the business on how is it doing. This is something which will make me come back home at anytime,” he said.

Despite being open about his Irish born fiance, Dj Mpiloz said that he prefers his relationship private since she is someone who is not in the public domain.

‘Yes I’m engaged to a beautiful white Irish girl since last year. We are still not married yet hopefully the date will come soon. I will invite you all,” he said giggling.

Speaking about being homesick, Dj Mpiloz said that business as the side hustle will always be good since it will help him to pay the bills.

“I needed something on the side that will feed my family because you know in the music industry sometimes gigs can be dry, but the bills still stand. I needed to have something that can put bread on the table so that I can be able to provide for my family,” he said.

Dj Mpiloz further said that on his latest single titled Pholisa he featured is friends Tebza De Dj and singer Buhle Nhlangulela.

“The way the song was made is magical. I recently came back home because my sister is getting married. Tebza called me and when I arrived in studio there was Buhle. What happened next is magic, that is how Pholisa was made. It was a blessing in disguise because after the wedding I’m going back to the USA where I get more recognition than in SA,” he said.

Dj Mpiloz said that he also get more recognition in the UK, Qatar, Mexico, Netherlands, Kenya , Ethiopia and Argentina just to name the few.

“My dream is to be recognized everywhere, specifically in the international stage. I want to be able to donate houses for the poor, food and clothes for those who are in need,” he said.
