]]> In a brief appearance at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court today, the matter was remanded until 22 April 2026. This delay is to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to review the docket and make a final decision on the charges and potentially where the trial will proceed.

Dludla, who is currently in custody after abandoning his bail application earlier in the proceedings, remains behind bars. He faces serious charges including 14 counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, reckless and negligent driving, and operating an unlicensed vehicle without proper permits.

The heartbreaking accident happened earlier this year when the minibus he was driving collided with a truck, resulting in the devastating loss of young lives and sparking widespread calls for justice and better oversight of scholar transport services.
