With just over a week remaining before kickoff, Orbit has revealed that their highly anticipated clash against Pirates currently has no stadium secured.

The match was originally scheduled to take place at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday, 23 May.

However, Orbit confirmed that the venue is no longer available.

“This follows confirmation from the stadium management that the facility will remain unavailable until 30 June 2026,” the club said in a statement.

The “Mswenko Boys” are now racing against time to secure an alternative venue capable of hosting what could become a title-deciding encounter.

“The club is currently in the process of securing an alternative compliant venue capable of hosting a fixture of this magnitude,” Orbit added.

“A final confirmation regarding the venue will be communicated by Friday, 15 May 2026.”

The uncertainty has sparked concern among football fans, especially with the massive significance attached to the fixture.

If results go in their favour, the Pirates could potentially lift the Betway Premiership trophy after the match.

This is also not the first time Orbit has faced venue complications this season.

Their earlier clash against Kaizer Chiefs was moved away from their home ground to Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium under similar circumstances.

Meanwhile, the title race remains finely balanced.

Pirates still need to win both of their remaining matches to keep alive their hopes of ending their long wait for league glory.

At the same time, Mamelodi Sundowns can pile even more pressure on the Buccaneers when they face TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening.

With the league title hanging in the balance, uncertainty around the venue is only adding more drama to an already chaotic finish to the season.
