]]> Kempton Park, South Africa – South Africans are glued to their screens as infamous convicted serial killer Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused Nomsa Mudau appeared at the Kempton Park Regional Magistrate’s Court today, 20 May 2026.
The pair face serious charges of conspiracy to commit murder in a chilling, alleged insurance scam plot.
Prosecutors claim that in 2018, the two former police officers planned to have Mudau’s ex-husband, Justice Mudau, killed by hired hitmen so they could cash in on a massive R3 million life insurance payout. An alleged hitman was reportedly promised between R80,000 and R150,000 for the job.
The deadly scheme was reportedly stopped when one approached hitman had a change of heart. He confessed everything and warned the intended victim, saving Justice Mudau’s life.

Who is Rosemary Ndlovu?

Ndlovu is already one of South Africa’s most notorious female serial killers. The former police officer is serving six life sentences for brutally murdering six of her own family members and associates between 2012 and 2018 – all to collect insurance and funeral policy payouts.
Now, even behind bars, she stands accused of plotting yet another murder with her former colleague Mudau.
Mudau has strongly denied all allegations. She claims she never took any threats seriously and has pleaded not guilty. Both women appeared in court as the nation awaits the magistrate’s judgment.

What Happened in Court Today?

Closing arguments in this explosive case were heard earlier this month. The matter was postponed specifically to today for the much-anticipated judgment. The court has reviewed all evidence, including witness testimony about alleged meetings in Thembisa and the financial motives behind the plot.
