Social media influencer Ghost Hlubi was involved in a car accident earlier today in Braamfontein after his luxury BMW collided with a Toyota Corolla.

According to information available at the scene, the vehicles crashed during the daytime, drawing attention from bystanders in the busy area. Emergency services were alerted promptly, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Both drivers escaped unharmed, something many described as a blessing. While the vehicles sustained damage, those involved were able to walk away safely.

Mass Funeral For Family Of Six Who Died In A Car Crash

The mass funeral of the six family members who tragically lost their lives in the horrific N2 road crash in Mtubatuba on Friday, 30 January, will be held at Mawombe Stadium – Umfolozi Local Municipality on Sunday,sa 8 February 2026.

The Nyatee Foundation has expressed its profound sorrow and deepest condolences to the loved ones. The lives lost include Mama Nokuphakama “MaMdletshe” Mnyango (85), Mama Makhosi kaMnyango Mthembu (52), Mvuyani Gcaleka (43), Senamile Buthelezi (29), Ayanda Pearl Mthembu (12), and Banzi Buthelezi (6).

This devastating incident has left an entire community in mourning and disbelief, as families grapple with an immeasurable loss that words alone cannot heal.

Moved by compassion and a deep sense of humanity, the Nyatee Foundation recently visited the bereaved families to offer heartfelt support, comfort, and solidarity during this incredibly painful time. The Foundation’s delegation spent time with the families, listening to their stories, sharing in their grief, and offering emotional, spiritual, and material support to help ease the burden of their suffering. The Nyatee Foundation has also extended its hand towards assisting with burial arrangements and thereafter.

“This is not just a tragedy; it is a wound that cuts through the heart of the community. The loss of six lives in one family is unimaginable. No parent, child, sibling, or relative should ever have to endure such pain. As a Foundation, we believe that compassion must move beyond words into action. Our presence here is a commitment to walk alongside these families, not only today, but in the days, weeks, and months ahead,” Nyatee Foundation spokesperson, Thobile Mchunu, shared.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Lindelani Gcaleka said they are at a loss for words.

“It has been devastating. I do not have the words to describe what we witnessed at the scene of the accident. The car was a total write-off, and some of the members were disfigured. We do not wish this even on our enemies. We wake up every day thinking that it is a lie. We are truly heartbroken.”

The Nyatee Foundation emphasized the importance of collective care, unity, and community healing, calling on local leaders, organisations, faith-based institutions, and community members to come together in love and support for the grieving families. The Foundation highlighted that healing is a journey that requires patience, understanding, and consistent support.

Multiple Murder Accused Scholar Driver Abandons Bail

The 22-year-old scholar transport driver, Ayanda Dludla who is facing multiple murder charges of learners abandoned his bail application.

Dludla appeared at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court in Vaal outside Gauteng on Thursday.

National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said Dludla is facing 14 counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, as well as charges of operating a motor vehicle without a certificate of fitness, driving without a professional driving permit and operating an unlicensed motor vehicle.

“It is alleged that on 19 January 2026, the accused was driving a scholar transport vehicle on the R553 Golden Highway, transporting 16 learners, when he allegedly collided head-on with an oncoming truck.

“The collision resulted in the deaths of 14 learners, while two learners and the truck driver sustained injuries.

In court, the accused elected not to be released on bail. The matter was postponed to 05 March 2026 for further investigations,” said Mahanjana.

Dludla will be reminded in custody.

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety (LDTCS) is concerned about the continued disregard of the South African law by bus drivers from foreign countries.

The department’s Spokesperson Dali Tshifhiwa said that theybkeep repeating one and the same thing of bus overloading.

“We are deeply concerned about the continued disregard of the law by cross-border buses operating in Limpopo. A bus from Zimbabwe was intercepted at N1 North Pepperboom on Sunday, carrying 90 passengers, 19 more than its certified capacity of 71 seated passengers. The bus was overloaded, had no cross-border permit and was operating without a valid operating license,” he said.

Tshifhiwa further said the bus has been discontinued and is currently detained at Polokwane Traffic Control Centre.

“Alternative transport is being arranged for the passengers to continue their journey. The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety will not tolerate lawlessness on our roads. We urge all operators to respect our laws and prioritize passenger safety,” he said.

Fake ‘Blue Light’ Robbers Killed After Dramatic Police Chase and Shootout in Free State

Two suspected armed robbers who allegedly posed as police officers were shot dead following a high-speed chase and shootout with law enforcement in Parys, Free State.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, the incident unfolded on Sunday after authorities received intelligence about a Volkswagen Golf 7 believed to be linked to a string of so-called “blue light” robberies between Gauteng and the Free State.

A multidisciplinary operation was launched, involving the Tactical Response Team, Traffic Airwing, detectives’ tracking units, SAPS counter-intelligence, and private security companies.

The vehicle was spotted travelling along the R59, fitted with blue lights commonly used by police. When officers attempted to pull it over, the driver allegedly sped off, triggering a high-speed pursuit. Shots were exchanged during the chase.

The suspects’ vehicle later lost control and crashed into a fence in the Parys area. Two men, both dressed in SAPS uniforms, were found dead inside the car.

Police recovered two unlicensed firearms with ammunition, SAPS uniforms with official insignia, blue lights, sirens and false number plates from the vehicle.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were behind several blue light robberies in which motorists were stopped under the guise of police roadblocks, then hijacked, kidnapped and forced to withdraw cash from their bank accounts.

Colonel Nevhuhulwi said police would continue to intensify operations targeting blue light gangs and other violent criminals.

Members of the public were urged not to stop for suspicious vehicles displaying blue lights in isolated areas, but instead to drive to the nearest police station or busy filling station. Crime can be reported anonymously to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
