Provincial police have released a one week report ( from 15 December _ 21 December 2005), indicating that about 1525 suspects were arrested.
The operation was executed through roadblocks stop and searches, tracing operations and high visibility disruptions and crime awareness campaigns.

The suspects were arrested for various offenses:
Provincial Police Commissioner Lt General Thembi Habede has praised the team’s in removing all forms of criminality in the province.

]]>The family said Kgopotso was not in a love relationship with Matome Masiya( 26) who repairs phones for a living.
“This is the first time I hear about the young man who took the life of my daughter and best friend. Kgopotso was in a relationship with a boy from Lenyenye township, ” said a grieving mother.
The mother confirmed that the Lenyenye family contacted them as soon as they heard about the incident and asked for permission to return her brand new sneakers, which she left at their place.
According to the family, Kgopotso left home around 10:00 pm to accompany a female friend to a hair salon.
Matome, who has been stalking that night, ambushed them and requested to talk to her, but she refused.
It is not clear which object, he used to strike her to the stomach.
It is believed that, before she took her last breath at Letaba hospital, she told the nurses that the person who pinned a object in her belly ( abdomen) is Matome, and she was never in a relationship with the suspect
It is believed that Matome had tried several times to win her over, but his proposal was turned down every time.
“I’m in pain,” said Mrs Mushwana
As police manhunt for Matome continues, she had a message for him
“If my daughter has ever wronged Matome, I wish he could have come to me and plead his case than resulting in taking her life,” said the mother
Kgopotso was an intelligent student in physics and mathematics. She passed her Grade 11 with flying colors and was excited to form part of the class of 2026.
“She wanted to become a nurse and improve my life conditions. Someone decided to take my child before her time.” said Mrs Mushwana as she withheld tears.
The family said they haven’t received any update regarding the case, and detective’s in charge of the case haven’t paid a visit at home or phone them.
Kgopotso was laid to rest on Sunday.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident and immediately instructed the police to search for the perpetrator to face the full might of the law.
“Domestic violence is a big challenge in our Province and has been declared a national disaster by the President of the Country His Excellency Ramaphosa and anyone perpetuating it must face the consequences ” said the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Hadebe.

After a meeting which was held between the families of the late Constables Cebekhulu Linda (24), Boipelo Senoge (24), and Keamogetswe Buys (30), the Premier of the Free State, Honourable Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae and the Provincial Commissioner of Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, a decision has been taken to afford and honour the members with official funerals.
In an official joint media statement released by the Free State Office of the Police and the Premier office the official funerals will take place on separate dates between 08 and 10 May 2025. Specific details for each funeral are as follows:

In tribute to the dedication and service of the late constables, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 06 May 2025, in Bloemfontein. The memorial service will be held at Bobbiespark, 02 Hannah Street, Bloemfontein and will start at 12:00.
The South African Police Service and the Free State Provincial Government extend deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen members. Their passing touched the country deep, but their dedication and contribution will never be forgotten.
