Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu visited the Police Academy in Tshwane today, where a 20-year-old woman has filed a case of rape against a trainer.

The alleged incident occurred when the trainer reportedly locked the office door and sexually assaulted the trainee.

The victim has been provided with psychological support, and internal disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the accused officer. The officer has been arrested and removed from his position.

Minister Mchunu has expressed deep concern over the matter, emphasizing the need for swift and decisive action to address such serious allegations within the police service.

He has assured that the South African Police Service (SAPS) is committed to upholding the law and ensuring the safety and dignity of all its members.
