Former FIFA referee and PSL general manager Andile “Ace” Ncobo has stepped down from his role as a SuperSport TV analyst following serious fraud and money laundering charges tied to a R15 million school infrastructure project in the Eastern Cape.

Ncobo and his wife, Salomie Twaise Ncobo, appeared in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on May 5, 2025. The couple faces three counts of fraud and money laundering, allegedly linked to the misuse of funds from PetroSA’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program.

Prosecutors claim the duo used falsified documents and unregistered companies, including Gangatha Projects, to unlawfully obtain and divert public funds intended for school construction.

Ncobo was released on R50,000 bail, while his wife was granted bail of R30,000. The case has been postponed to May 29 for further investigation.

In a public statement, Ncobo denied any wrongdoing, describing the charges as “malicious” and insisting that the projects in question were completed “to the highest standards.”

The scandal has sent shockwaves through South Africa’s sporting and broadcasting circles, where Ncobo had built a reputation as a respected football analyst and administrator.
