Faro made it clear that Nkosi acted entirely outside official structures, distancing both herself and the TMPD from his alleged involvement in sensitive tender processes.

“Sergeant Nkosi had no right to interfere in any procurement-related matters within the TMPD. He has no authority. He had no permission,” she told the commission.

She further revealed that she had never interacted with Nkosi and only became aware of him when he appeared before the commission.

“I was not aware that he’s busy interfering. I don’t know Sergeant Nkosi. I never made contact with him,” Faro said.

Nkosi, a member of the SAPS Gauteng Organised Crime Unit, previously testified about his role in sharing bidder information and documents linked to procurement processes within the TMPD.

The commission is currently probing a staggering R2.9 billion security tender involving 22 companies.

Evidence presented includes:

• R59 million allegedly paid to Gubis85 Solutions for services not rendered

• Over R2 million paid to a company linked to Nkosi’s brother

The Madlanga Commission continues to investigate serious allegations of corruption, tender manipulation, and political interference within the criminal justice system and entities linked to the City of Tshwane.
