The broadcaster, Sbusiso Leope WeNkosi, better known as DJ Sbu, issued a firm rebuttal after testimony at an ongoing inquiry suggested he and a former political figure may have benefited from 100 million rand in grants from a local municipality.

The allegations surfaced during evidence given by a suspended legal official from the Ekurhuleni area, who referenced a settled case involving a city executive. According to the claims, the funds were linked to improper distributions.

In response, DJ Sbu described the statements as completely untrue and potentially defamatory. He suggested they might be an effort to shift focus away from other internal issues within the municipality.

Throughout his career in media, business, and community work, DJ Sbu emphasized that he has always operated with honesty and a commitment to positive change. He vowed to take legal steps if the false narratives persist.

The radio host, who appears on a national station, called on the public and journalists to check facts carefully and not spread unproven information that could damage reputations unfairly.
