It is alleged that on Saturday, 16 August 2025 Odendaalsrus police were conducting preliminary investigations after Mpho Sophy Mpatane (26) was reported missing. Investigations led members and the complainant to a shack in K10 Section Kutlwanong. On arrival at the scene, they met an African male who alleged that he was also looking for the victim. Police requested to search the residence and discovered soil under the sofa and bed. Upon further investigation, soil was found behind the bed, and after digging through the soil, they noticed a human leg. Digging was instantly halted. The Bloemfontein K9 unit was activated for exhumation. Police discovered the body of a deceased african female with her mouth tied with a cloth. It is believed that Mohutsiwa may assist police with investigations on the murder case.
