]]>AppleTV+ announced the postponement of “The Savant” after careful consideration, without elaborating on the reason. The move came after the killing of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. Chastain, however, believes the show’s themes are more relevant now than ever.
In an Instagram post, Chastain stated that she and Apple are “not aligned on the decision to pause the release of The Savant”. She highlighted the show’s relevance to current events, citing numerous violent incidents in the US, including
Chastain emphasized that the show honors heroes who work to prevent violence and that their courage feels more urgent than ever. While respecting Apple’s decision, she remains hopeful the show will reach audiences soon.
“The Savant” is a drama series based on a Cosmopolitan magazine article about a top-secret investigator tracing white supremacists and hate groups online. Chastain plays the titular Savant, a suburban mom turned elite investigator. The series also stars Nnamdi Asomugha, Pablo Schreiber, and Richard Grant.
Series directors Matthew Heineman and Rachel Morrison reposted Chastain’s Instagram post, with Morrison simply commenting “This”. The postponement has sparked debate, with some questioning Apple’s decision
