Former Icora FM Radio Presenter Is Now The Music Teacher In The USA

From being a local radio station presenter to working for a company that manages many artists all over the world.

Real name is Celimpilo Gumede from a small township called ESikhaleni (eSikhawini) that is situated in the Northern Part of KwaZulu-Natal, Masta Soul did not allow his background defin his future.

The former Icora FM radio presenter who is now based in New York City in the United States of America, Masta Soul his journey in the radio broadcasting and deejaying has not been easy.

“Honestly speaking it took me to have passion to what I do and to believe in myself that I can far with my talent. My last radio presenting gig was with Icora FM back home and if an opportunity arises here, I will grab with both hands. My first love is Deejaying, followed by radio,” he said.

Masta Soul said that he began being a deejay back in 2005.

“After having tried my luck back at home to be booked in different clubs, I took a decision that changed my life. I left everything behind and moved to Johannesburg to pursue my dream and that did not work out too,” said the Soulful House Dj.

Masta Soul said: “In 2023 I decided to travel to the USA to my other friends who are based that side who managed to convince me that things were happening in New York. Few months down the line I found myself a job in one of the College’s where I teach music and Deejaying. From there I never looked back.

“New York City has become my home away from home. Recently I was signed by the biggest PR company called Anyone Music. The company manages many artists across the world which has given me platform to travel around Europe to perform,”he said.

Masta Soul said that at the moment he is working with different labels especially in Europe and America where he just released EP titled as “Another Dimension” where he did original version and his friend Teboho Nkone did the remix.

“I will be releasing another upcoming single that is set to drop on the 19th of December titled “Wipe Your Mouth” under 2Phonic Recordings based in Madrid in Spain,” he said.

Ye’s South African Concert Still On, Says Monyake Group Amid Scandal Rumours

After weeks of uncertainty and online rumours, organisers of Ye’s (formerly Kanye West) highly anticipated South African concert have officially confirmed that the show is still happening.

In a statement released by the Monyake Group, the promoters reassured fans that the “Ye Live in South Africa” concert remains scheduled for 13 December 2025 at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.

> “The agreement between Monyake Group and Yeezy LLC is valid and in good standing, and all preparations are progressing in line with the signed contractual terms,” the company said. “We remain committed to delivering an exceptional experience for fans and partners.”

The announcement comes after social media personality Musa Khawula alleged that the Monyake Group was facing deregistration, had failed to pay Ye’s management, and that the concert deal was falling apart.

In his posts on X (formerly Twitter), Khawula claimed that Monyake’s company was in breach of contract after failing to pay an agreed $1.25 million instalment to Ye’s team, part of an overall fee reportedly reduced from $8 million to $5 million. He further alleged that only 6,000 tickets had been sold so far and that potential sponsors had begun distancing themselves from the event.

The Monyake Group has since dismissed these claims as false, saying they were part of a “misinformation campaign” that doesn’t reflect the true status of the concert.

> “We are aware of false information being circulated online suggesting otherwise,” their statement continued. “These claims, including references to deregistration, non-payment and breach of contract, are entirely untrue. We encourage the public to rely on official communications for accurate updates.”

Social media users have had mixed reactions to the controversy. Some fans expressed excitement and faith that Ye will show up, while others voiced doubts about both the organisers and the unpredictable artist himself.

One user joked, “I don’t trust Kanye not to waste my money,” while another wrote, “Kanye West himself tweeted about coming to South Africa, and we still don’t believe him — that’s how hurt we are as fans.”

Despite the speculation, Ye’s Johannesburg concert is still officially on the calendar, with organisers promising that everything is on track for an unforgettable show.
