Actress Lusanda Mbane refutes the claims that she owe her former Personal Assistant Lunga Ngcabashe money for services rendered.
The former Etv Scandal, SABC Muvhango, Imbewu and Generations actress also said she dismissed allegations that she unfairly dismissed Ngcubashe.

This comes Ngcabashe dropped a series of social media post claiming that Mbane who took him from the Eastern Cape, brought him to Gauteng and gave him the job accused Mbane of owing him money.
On Thursday evening finally responded to the allegations labelled against her.
“It has come to my attention that, over the past few months, Mr. Lunga Ngcabashe has taken to social media to repeatedly make disparaging and defamatory remarks about me. I have taken some time before addressing this matter publicly because I believe in handling conflict with dignity and fairness. However, the continued harassment, false allegations, and public attacks directed at me by Mr. Lunga Ngcabashe, have now crossed a line that I can no longer ignore.
“Among his assertions are claims that I owe him money for services rendered and that I unfairly dismissed him. I believe it is important to address these allegations on the same platform he has chosen to use, and to set out the facts clearly, Mr. Ngcabashe was employed as my personal assistant for two months from June 2022 until his dismissal at the beginning of August 2022,” she said.
Mbane said Ngcabashe operated from a studio situated on the outside quarters of her private residence, where his responsibilities included overseeing her clothing business, Zazi Zithembe Zithande (ZZZ).
“Initially, he was assigned to assist with my personal family errands too, but after the first month, when there were a few concerns regarding observing clear boundaries, his responsibilities were then confined to only the ZZZ business. During this short period of employment, his conduct, although very eager to serve, fell far below acceptable professional standards. He often acted in ways that overstepped boundaries and invaded my privacy, including areas of my home where my children reside.
“For the sake of brevity, I will not detail every incident. Instead, I will focus on the key issues that were formally addressed during proceedings at the CCMA, where he alleged unfair dismissal and where he did not dispute the following, Mr. Ngcabashe took, without permission, and regularly wore merchandise belonging to ZZZ, despite being expressly instructed not to do so. This conduct constitutes unauthorised use of company property. The CCMA ruled in my favour, recognising that I suffered financial loss, as the items could no longer be sold once used,” she said.
Mbane also claimed that Ngcabashe also attempted to solicit business from her clients which he had introduced him to them.
She further claimed that at some stage, Ngcabashe directed business funds into his personal banking accounts.
“Mr. Ngcabashe stored his personal camera equipment which appeared to be of high value, inside my private residence which is not linked in anyway to the outside studio where he worked—specifically in a room designated for my exclusive use – without permission and without my knowledge. His designated workspace was clearly separate from my home. I was shocked when I found it, to learn that in my personal space, without my knowledge, expensive equipment was secretly stored, which I would not have been able to account for had there been an issue or anything untoward,” she said.
She said Ngcabashe was the one who took the matter to CCMA for resolution but it ruled in her favour.
“I resorted to blocking him from contacting me when he continued to contact me for months thereafter, declaring his love for me and how much he missed me and calling my children wanting to connect with them. This was merely to protect my space and my privacy following an unpleasant experience.
“I will not be personally engaging further on this matter as I would rather invest my energies elsewhere. I felt it was important to bring the facts forward to show respect to my associates, clients, supporters and everyone else that I hold in high regard. While I would prefer not to escalate this matter further, I will not hesitate to pursue appropriate legal remedies should the harassment and defamatory statements continue,” she said.

NPA Spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said they strongly condemnes any form of intimidation or threats against its prosecutors.
“These officials serve the public by representing the State and are constitutionally mandated to execute their duties without fear, favour, or prejudice.
Threats against prosecutors whether perceived as credible or not must be treated with the utmost seriousness and reported to the relevant law enforcement authrities for investigation,” he said.
Kganyago said such conduct undermines the rule of law and poses a real risk to the safety and lives of those entrusted with upholding justice.
“This concern is heightened in the Eastern Cape, where three prosecutors have tragically been killed over the past two years, underscoring the very real dangers faced by members of the prosecuting authority.
“The NPA remains resolute in its commitment to safeguard its prosecutors and ensure that they are able to perform their functions independently, safely, and effectively. Prosecutors are officers of court and a threat to a prosecutor will attract consequences and anyone must desist from whatever form of threat against them,” he said.

The Eastern Cape House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders has issued a strong condemnation following reports that Solomon Ogbonna Eziko was crowned as a leader of the Igbo community, known as Igwe Ndigbo, during a weekend event in kuGompo.
The area falls under the authority of King Jonguxolo Vululwandle Sandile of the amaRharhabe Kingdom, making the move highly controversial.
Traditional leaders have described the alleged coronation as a direct challenge to recognised authority and a violation of both customary law and national legislation.
In a strongly worded statement, the House said the act shows a troubling disregard for South Africa’s constitutional framework governing traditional leadership.
“This is a flagrant violation of established customary protocols and a direct affront to the institution of traditional leadership,” the House said.
The leaders stressed that no individual or group has the authority to establish a kingship structure outside the legal framework set out in the Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership Act.
They warned that allowing such actions to go unchecked could erode the rule of law and create divisions within communities.
The House also raised concerns about the potential consequences of the incident, saying it could trigger avoidable tensions if not urgently addressed.
“Traditional leaders have consistently stood against xenophobia and division. However, actions of this nature are irresponsible and may provoke conflict,” the statement said.
The House is now demanding an immediate public apology from all those involved and has called for the complete dissolution of what it describes as an illegitimate and self styled kingship.
Authorities are being urged to act swiftly.
The House has called on law enforcement agencies to launch an urgent investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable in line with South African law.
It has also urged the national government to take preventative steps, including reviewing legal and immigration compliance linked to the matter.
The controversy has sparked wider debate about cultural recognition, community leadership and the limits of authority within South Africa’s diverse society.
As pressure mounts, all eyes are now on government and law enforcement to determine how this sensitive and potentially explosive situation will be resolved.

SAPS Mount Road (Mount Road Visible Policing) VISPOL in Gqeberha in Eastern Cape where members dealt a significant blow to the illegal abalone trade following the arrest of three suspects found in possession of a large quantity of dried abalone.

SAPS spokesperperson, Janse van Rensburg said SAPS Mount Road members were conducting patrols in the Deal Party area, including the parking area at New Brighton Beach.

The location had previously been identified as a hotspot for diesel theft from horse-and-trailer trucks.

During the patrol, members noticed a large liquor transport truck parked nearby and spotted a one-ton Tata light delivery vehicle where three suspects were busy loading 17 black plastic bags onto the truck.

“Members immediately conducted an inspection and discovered that all the bags were filled with dried abalone.
A total of 11 170 units of dried abalone, with an estimated street value of approximately R2.6 million, were confiscated,” she said.
She said: “The successful operation represents a significant setback for organised illegal abalone operations operating within the region.
The three suspects, aged between 25 and 38, were arrested and detained for contravention of the Marine Living Resources Act (Act 18 of 1998, Regulation 36(1)) regarding the illegal possession and transportation of abalone without a valid permit.
This arrest marks a major disruption to the illegal abalone trafficking industry on Tuesday.
SAPS urges communities to report any suspicious activities related to the illegal harvesting, transportation or trade of marine resources.
Police will continue to intensify operations targeting environmental crimes and organised criminal networks to protect South Africa’s natural heritage and ensure offenders are brought to justice.
The accused will appear in court soon.

]]>The post Sobukwe Family Grapples with Mixed Emotions Over Graaff-Reinet’s Renaming Amid Public Backlash appeared first on MDNtv.
]]>The grandson of Robert Sobukwe shared that while the recognition keeps his grandfather’s legacy alive, the backlash has been tough to endure. He noted that the town’s history is steeped in colonial and apartheid influences, and resistance from certain groups was anticipated, especially those holding economic power. What surprised him most was hearing similar sentiments from younger residents.
The name change, approved by the arts and culture minister, is one of 21 such updates across the country aimed at addressing historical injustices in place names. For the family, it’s a bittersweet step toward preserving the memory of a freedom fighter, but they worry about the fragility of such tributes in a changing political landscape.
Critics, including opposition politicians, argue the decision overlooks local sentiments and feels like a political maneuver rather than genuine redress. One lawmaker emphasized that while Sobukwe was a key historical figure, the original name holds deep roots for the community, and the process sidelined residents’ input. Objections are being prepared, with a deadline approaching to challenge the gazette notice.
Another political group urged people to reject the change, viewing it as an erosion of shared heritage, particularly for Afrikaner communities. They called for unity in preserving the town’s original identity, warning that it fosters division instead of addressing pressing national problems.
Defenders from Sobukwe’s own political party pushed back, saying the opposition stems from fear of the ideals he stood for—ideas so potent that even during apartheid, he was isolated in solitary confinement. They framed the renaming as a vital part of decolonization and confronting historical truths.
As debates rage online and in communities, the family calls for embracing change, reminding everyone of the painful past where many names were imposed without consent. They hope this sparks broader awareness of Sobukwe’s contributions, even as they navigate the emotional toll.
