Explosions have rocked parts of Lebanon after Israel launched its most intense wave of airstrikes yet, raising fears that the conflict could spiral beyond control.

The escalation comes despite an ongoing US Iran ceasefire agreement that is now facing serious strain.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that multiple Hezbollah targets were hit in what is being described as the largest operation against the group in the current phase of the conflict.

Hezbollah has responded with rocket fire into northern Israel, accusing Israel of breaching what it believes to be a broader ceasefire understanding.

However, both Israel and the United States maintain that the agreement does not include Lebanon, a key point now driving renewed tensions.

Inside Israel, authorities have begun easing wartime restrictions, with schools expected to reopen across most areas as conditions stabilise in parts of the country.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defended the operations, saying actions taken against Iran and its allies have significantly reduced threats to Israel.

With both sides standing firm, concerns are growing that the fragile diplomatic efforts could collapse if the situation continues to escalate.

Headline: US Issues Stark Warning To Iran Ahead Of Critical Talks As Ceasefire Tensions Rise

Tensions are rising ahead of crucial talks between the United States and Iran, with Washington warning of serious consequences if the fragile ceasefire is undermined.

The warning comes as confusion grows over whether Lebanon was ever part of the agreement.

US Vice President J.D. Vance has made it clear that Lebanon is not included in the ceasefire deal, rejecting Iranian claims that Israel’s actions violate the agreement.

Vance said Iran must come to the negotiating table seriously, adding that any attempt to derail the agreement could trigger strong consequences.

He also indicated that Israel has shown willingness to ease its military pressure in Lebanon to support diplomatic progress, although no formal agreement has been announced.

The upcoming talks in Islamabad are expected to play a critical role in determining whether tensions can be reduced or if the situation will deteriorate further.

Key issues expected to dominate discussions include Iran’s nuclear programme, regional influence, and long term security arrangements.

Headline: Global Alarm As Strait Of Hormuz Faces Fresh Disruptions

Global markets are on edge as fresh disruptions hit one of the world’s most important oil routes, raising fears of a wider economic impact.

Shipping uncertainty is growing around the Strait of Hormuz.

Reports indicate that oil tankers have altered routes or been turned away amid rising security concerns linked to tensions involving Iran.

Iranian media has also suggested that ships may need to follow new navigation paths due to potential hazards in the area, including suspected mined zones.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical passage for global oil supply, and any disruption has immediate consequences for international markets and energy prices.

Despite the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, uncertainty over its scope and enforcement continues to affect confidence in safe maritime operations.

Analysts warn that prolonged instability in the region could trigger significant global economic ripple effects.

Headline: Macron Steps In As Middle East Crisis Deepens Calls For Ceasefire Across All Fronts

Diplomatic pressure is mounting as global leaders push for calm amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

France is now calling for a ceasefire that extends across all areas of conflict.

French President Emmanuel Macron has urged all parties to fully respect the ceasefire agreement, including in Lebanon where violence continues.

Macron confirmed that he held discussions with US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasising the need for stability.

He warned that any agreement must go beyond immediate de escalation and address broader concerns such as Iran’s nuclear ambitions, missile programme, and regional activities.

Macron also raised alarm over disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the importance of protecting global trade routes.

France has positioned itself as a key diplomatic voice as efforts intensify to prevent the conflict from expanding further.

Headline: Gun Attack Near Israeli Consulate Sparks Security Alert In Turkey

Security concerns are rising after a gun attack near an Israeli diplomatic site in Istanbul triggered a swift police response.

Authorities in Turkey have detained multiple suspects following the incident.

The attack occurred near the building housing the Israeli consulate, prompting an immediate security operation in the area.

Police confirmed that at least ten individuals have been taken into custody as investigations continue into the motive behind the shooting.

The incident comes at a time of heightened global tensions linked to ongoing conflict in the Middle East, raising concerns about spillover into other regions.

Officials have assured the public that security measures have been strengthened to prevent further incidents.

Headline: Stunning Earth From Space Image Captured As Artemis II Makes History

A breathtaking image from space is capturing global attention, offering a rare view of Earth from near the Moon.

The moment is being hailed as a major milestone in human space exploration.

The crew of Artemis II captured what is known as an Earthset, showing the planet appearing to dip behind the lunar horizon.

The image has been widely praised for its beauty and symbolic significance, highlighting humanity’s progress in returning to deep space missions.

Artemis II is part of a broader programme aimed at sending humans back to the Moon and eventually preparing for missions to Mars.

Experts say moments like this inspire a new generation and reinforce the importance of continued investment in space exploration.

Rwanda’s leader, Paul Kagame, spoke out on Thursday, pushing for his nation to rely more on itself. This comes as there’s growing talk in the US about adding tougher sanctions because of Rwanda’s role in the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The small country in the Great Lakes region is facing more heat from around the world for backing the M23 rebel group. Last year, M23 took control of large areas in eastern Congo.

A peace agreement between Rwanda and Congo, put together with help from former US President Donald Trump, got signed in Washington not long ago. But just days after, M23 captured another key city, Uvira. There was strong agreement from both sides in a US congressional group recently to push for more sanctions on Rwanda.

At an event in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, Kagame stressed the importance of standing on their own.

He talked about committing to self-reliance so that Rwanda’s future doesn’t hinge on chance or the kindness of others who might help one day and pull back the next.

Self-reliance is our top goal, he emphasized.

Rwanda says it’s only in eastern Congo to defend against a militia made up of leftovers from the groups behind the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. They deny any direct military action. Kagame seemed to hint at some involvement in Congo.

When people ask if you’re in Congo, if you say no, then the steps you took for defense get ignored. And if you say yes, that turns into the biggest issue everyone focuses on.

For the first time, Rwanda admitted to working directly on security with M23 and its political group, the Alliance Fleuve Congo.

This coordination is to stop another cross-border threat like in the late 1990s that could put Rwanda at risk.

A quiet Saturday morning in Kyiv turned tragic when Russian drones and missiles struck residential neighbourhoods, killing one person and injuring seven others. The blasts echoed across the capital, jolting families awake as fires broke out in several apartment buildings.

Authorities said a 13-year-old child was among the injured. Some victims were taken to hospital while emergency crews worked to control fires and pull survivors from damaged buildings. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, rescuers recovered the body of a man from the debris, while two women were reported injured in nearby Brovary.

The attack unfolded just days after a similar strike that left seven dead, adding to the growing anxiety in the capital. It also came at a critical moment, as Ukrainian officials prepared to meet US negotiators over a revised peace proposal.

Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, Russian forces continued to target residential areas. Kyiv’s military administration said multiple sites on the outskirts were hit, while air defence units fought off more incoming drones over the city.

The renewed bombardment landed against the backdrop of intense international discussions. Moscow has insisted that Ukraine withdraw from territories Russia claims, while negotiations between Ukraine and the United States continue over a draft peace plan that has undergone revisions.

Ukrainian leaders say they remain committed to talks that could secure peace and future safety guarantees, even as attacks on civilians persist.

The minister revealed that some of those fighting include former members of Kenya’s security forces. Others who have been rescued said they were forced to assemble drones and handle dangerous chemicals without proper training or safety equipment.

President William Ruto recently appealed to the Ukrainian government to help secure the release of Kenyans trapped in the war zone.

Reports indicate that about 1,400 Africans are currently fighting alongside Russian troops in Ukraine, with many allegedly recruited through deception. One young Kenyan athlete captured in Ukraine earlier this year claimed he was tricked into joining the Russian army.

Mudavadi warned that recruitment networks are still active both in Kenya and Russia, and that some recruits were promised up to $18,000 to cover travel and living expenses. Kenya’s embassy in Moscow has documented several injuries among these fighters.

He also raised concerns about the growing number of Kenyans being drawn into forced criminal activities such as drug trafficking and labor exploitation abroad, calling it a serious threat to both national and global security.

In September, Kenyan authorities rescued more than 20 nationals who were preparing to travel to Russia to join the war. One suspect accused of coordinating the recruitment was arrested and is now facing prosecution.

Meanwhile, other African countries are grappling with similar challenges. South Africa has launched an investigation into how 17 of its citizens ended up fighting in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region. Citizens from Somalia, Sierra Leone, Togo, Cuba, and Sri Lanka are also reported to be detained in Ukrainian prisoner-of-war camps.

The men are celebrating a massacre that is believed to have claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people in the city of el-Fasher. International authorities have since opened an investigation into whether the killings amount to war crimes or crimes against humanity.

El-Fasher had long been a strategic target in Darfur. It was the last major city in the region still controlled by the national army, which has been locked in a devastating conflict with the militia since their alliance collapsed in 2023.

Over two years, more than 150,000 people are estimated to have died, with both sides accused of brutal abuses that continued after the fall of el-Fasher.

A City Sealed Off

The militia had surrounded the city for nearly two years. As they tightened their grip, they began constructing a huge sand barrier around el-Fasher, blocking every road and cutting off aid and supplies. By early October, the city was completely encircled, along with a nearby village.

During this period, dozens of civilians were killed in attacks, including people seeking shelter in a mosque and a displacement camp. Videos circulated showing a man tied upside down from a tree, accused of trying to smuggle food into the city. His captors beat him and demanded he beg for his life.

Meanwhile, heavy street fighting pushed deeper into el-Fasher.

The Final Collapse

At dawn on 26 October, the militia overran the last army base after fierce fighting. Fighters were soon seen wandering through the captured headquarters, laughing and posing with weapons.

The militia’s history of targeting non-Arab communities in Sudan stretches back decades, and the fall of el-Fasher opened the door to yet another wave of violence.

Within hours, disturbing footage began emerging from inside the city. One video showed dozens of bodies strewn across the floor of a university building.

An elderly man in a white tunic sat among the dead, staring up as a gunman descended the stairs. The fighter raised his weapon and shot the man at close range. As the body fell, another fighter noticed movement among the corpses and shouted, “Why is this one still alive? Shoot him!”

Satellite imagery from the same day revealed groups of objects consistent with human bodies lying on the streets—evidence confirming that executions had taken place.

Witnesses who managed to flee described seeing family members gathered in one spot and killed together. One woman was reportedly shot in the chest, her belongings taken before her body was tossed aside.

Killings on the Outskirts

While the main group of fighters spread through the city, another group stayed along the outer sand barrier, where they executed unarmed captives. Videos from an area about 8km outside el-Fasher show a trench filled with bodies, including what appear to be women. Burned-out vehicles and fires still smoldered around them.

In several clips, fighters laughed as they walked past the dead.

One commander, who called himself Abu Lulu online, was filmed executing captives in multiple videos. Witnesses said he ordered the deaths of civilians, including children.

In one clip, a wounded man pleaded with him, saying he recognized him from before. Abu Lulu brushed him off and said, “I will never have mercy. Our job is only killing,” before firing a burst of bullets into the unarmed man.

Another video showed nine captives executed and left in a line where they fell, untouched for days.

The Aftermath and Attempts to Clean Up

After global outrage, the militia’s leadership acknowledged that “violations” had occurred and claimed they were investigating. Some fighters were reportedly arrested, including Abu Lulu, who appeared in a staged video being led into a prison cell.

Satellite images taken days later show signs that bodies were removed from the execution site, and newly dug graves appeared near a children’s hospital. Measurements of shrouded shapes in the hospital courtyard suggested they were bodies prepared for burial.

The militia then began reshaping its public image, posting videos of fighters distributing food and showing supposed humane treatment of prisoners. Supporters online tried to counter the outcry by sharing these clips.

But the attempts have done little to silence the shock and anger over what happened in el-Fasher.

The handover, carried out through the Red Cross in Gaza, is part of the ongoing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The bodies have been transported to Israel for formal identification.

If confirmed, eight Israeli and foreign hostages would still remain unaccounted for in Gaza. Under the first stage of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal, Hamas agreed to release 20 living and 28 deceased hostages.

Israel has accused Hamas of delaying the return of the bodies, while Hamas claims it is still searching for remains trapped under rubble from previous airstrikes. The Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, said the bodies were discovered along a tunnel route in southern Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the families of the hostages had been informed and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to securing the return of every hostage. “Our hearts are with the families during this painful time. The effort will not stop until all are brought home,” his office said.

The exchange comes amid renewed tension, with both sides accusing each other of violating the ceasefire. On Sunday, a reported Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza killed one man, whom Israel described as a militant posing a threat to its forces.

As part of the truce, Hamas released all remaining living Israeli hostages on 13 October in exchange for over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Israel has also returned 225 Palestinian bodies in exchange for 17 deceased hostages, including two foreigners.

The ongoing conflict, sparked by Hamas’s October 2023 attack on southern Israel that killed about 1,200 people and led to the abduction of 251 others, has left deep scars on both sides. According to Gaza’s health authorities, more than 68,000 people have since been killed during Israel’s military campaign.

Efforts to sustain the fragile ceasefire continue, as families on both sides wait anxiously for closure and peace.

Ukraine’s top commander has acknowledged that his troops are under immense pressure defending the front-line town of Pokrovsk, where Russian forces are pushing hard to gain control.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi described the situation as “difficult,” saying Ukrainian soldiers are facing a large Russian force, but he denied claims that they are surrounded. Elite special forces have been sent to protect key supply routes, which remain under heavy fire.

Appearing in a short video from the Donetsk region, Syrskyi was seen reviewing battlefield maps alongside other top officials, including military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. The move signals Kyiv’s determination to hold on to Pokrovsk — a town Russia has been trying to capture for more than a year.

Ukraine’s 7th Rapid Response Corps said troops have made small tactical improvements in the area, though the battle remains intense and unpredictable. President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized that defending Pokrovsk is a national priority.

Pokrovsk is a vital transport and supply hub in eastern Ukraine. If Russia captures it, analysts believe it could pave the way for control of the rest of the Donetsk region. Moscow currently occupies about 20% of Ukraine, including Crimea, which it annexed in 2014.

Ukraine also fears that losing Pokrovsk could give Russia a propaganda victory, bolstering its claims of progress and pressuring Western countries to accept its terms.

Meanwhile, diplomatic tensions remain high. The U.S. recently imposed new sanctions on Russian oil giants and canceled a planned summit between Presidents Trump and Putin. Although Zelensky supports a ceasefire along current front lines, Putin continues to demand sweeping concessions from Ukraine — conditions Kyiv and its allies have rejected.

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Nigeria, threatening possible military intervention over what he called “the killing of Christians by Islamists.”

In a fiery post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed he had directed the Pentagon to prepare a plan of attack if the Nigerian government failed to act swiftly. He accused Nigerian authorities of allowing violence against Christians to continue unchecked, calling it an “existential threat” to the faith.

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and may go in ‘guns-a-blazing’ to wipe out the Islamic terrorists behind these atrocities,” Trump wrote. “If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet — just like the terrorists attack our cherished Christians.”

He ended his message with a warning to Nigeria’s leadership: “The Nigerian government better move fast!”

Nigeria has long struggled with deadly conflicts involving ethnic, regional, and religious groups. Experts say the violence has claimed the lives of both Christians and Muslims across the country.

Trump’s comments follow repeated claims — many without clear evidence — that Christians are being specifically targeted in large numbers by radical groups. Such statements have reignited debates about Nigeria’s religious and political divisions, as the country remains nearly evenly split between a Muslim-majority north and a Christian-majority south.

Ukraine has described the latest wave of strikes as “nuclear terrorism,” saying they target facilities critical to the nation’s safety and survival.

In a joint statement, G7 energy ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States said Russia’s actions are causing severe “social, environmental, and economic consequences” for Ukrainian civilians.

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko accused Moscow of trying to “plunge Ukraine into darkness” by deliberately hitting power plants, substations, and gas facilities. The recent attacks have killed at least seven people and left parts of the country without electricity, water, or heating.

Kyiv’s foreign ministry said the strikes on substations supplying power to nuclear plants pose a direct threat to global safety. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that three Ukrainian nuclear power plants were forced to reduce output following the attacks, warning that the risk to nuclear safety “remains very real.”

Meanwhile, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant — Europe’s largest — continues to rely on external power to maintain cooling systems after repeated damage to its power lines. Fighting around the facility remains a major concern.

Moscow has denied targeting civilians, claiming its strikes are in response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure. However, Ukraine and its allies say the continued assaults on energy sites are part of a deliberate campaign to break civilian morale as winter approaches.

Witnesses in Gaza described seeing “pillars of fire and smoke” rising over homes and crowded neighborhoods as explosions shook the night sky. Health officials said at least 104 people were killed, including dozens of children and women, and over 250 others were injured.

Entire families were buried beneath the rubble. In Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, rescuers pulled three women and a man from the remains of the al-Banna family home. In Bureij camp, five members of the Abu Sharar family were killed when a strike hit their house. In Khan Younis, relatives wept as they mourned a mother, Bayan al-Shawaf, and her four children who died in a strike on a tent where displaced families had been sleeping.

“What kind of ceasefire is this?” cried Bayan’s cousin, Umm Mohammed. “The children were sleeping — they just wanted to live, to learn.”

Israel’s military said the strikes were a response to what it called “violations of the ceasefire” by Hamas, accusing the group of launching an attack that killed a soldier, identified as Master Sergeant Yona Efraim Feldbaum. The attack reportedly took place near Rafah, when Israeli engineers working to dismantle a tunnel came under fire.

Israeli leaders vowed retaliation, saying Hamas had crossed a “red line.” But Hamas denied involvement, insisting it remained committed to the ceasefire and accusing Israel of trying to provoke renewed fighting.

The United States said it believed the ceasefire would hold, even as it backed Israel’s right to respond to attacks. “Nothing will jeopardize the ceasefire,” said President Trump, while also stating that Israel “should hit back” if its soldiers are targeted.

International voices expressed concern over the mounting death toll. The UN’s human rights chief called the reports of civilian deaths “appalling,” urging all sides not to let the chance for peace slip away.

The ceasefire, brokered by the US, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, was meant to be the first stage of a broader peace plan. Under the agreement, Hamas was to return all hostages — living and deceased — while Israel released hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

Tensions spiked earlier in the week after Hamas returned a coffin that Israel said did not contain the remains of one of its hostages. Israel called it a “clear violation” of the deal, while Hamas dismissed the accusation as false.

Despite repeated efforts to maintain calm, the violence has reignited fears that Gaza could once again descend into full-scale war. Since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign in 2023, more than 68,000 Palestinians have been killed, with thousands more injured or displaced.

As Gaza’s people sift through rubble and grief, many are left wondering how long any truce can truly last.
