“The aim of this initiative was to give back to my community. To show some.love to the people who have supported me from day one. Without them, there will be no Mbali Ngidi. I decided to partner with Malume (Dj Tira) because he is like my brother, my father, my uncle who is mentoring me in the music industry,” she said.

Mbali said that being in Osindisweni reminded her of her late mother who used to work in the same hospital.

“This hospital is very close to my heart and very special. I have good mwmories about it, my mother worked here for years and everything that we have become today is because of this hospital. So Valentines Day is not only for lovers but it is tue day to show love. It is the day which is meant for us to show love amongst each other. It is about the love that you give and the love tjat you receive,” she said.

Afrotainment boss Dj Tira and newly signed artist Mbali Ngidi will celebrate their Valentine’s Day with the workers from Osindisweni Hospital.

Osindisweni Hospital is based in Veralum in the north of Durban in KwaZulu Natal and the two artists are plamning to shower the workers with love on Friday.

Speaking to Mdn News, Mbali said the visits to the hospital is inspired by her late mother who worked in the centre for over 32 years before she took an early retirement.

“Besides being born and bred in Osindisweni, my mother used to work there before she took an early retirement in 2022 and unfortunately my mother passed away in February 2023. She worked there for more than 32 years. I know the struggle that they were facing and the current workers are going through the same but we want to show them love and appreciate them that despite everything but they are soldiering on.

“We are going there to plant the seed of love and to honour them in the job that they do. We are seeing the improvements and we would like to appreciate the staff for the job they do. We can see that the community at large is happy about the workers. Growing up I use to read a lot of negative stories about the hospital but lately all that have changed. The community is no longer complaining so with that said we have to shower them with love and appreciate them,” she said.

The Azania Movement today conducted a community care visit and donation drive at Steppingstone Hospice in Alberton, a specialised care facility for children with life-limiting disabilities.

During the visit, Azania donated essential items including toilet paper, cleaning detergents, and cereal. The movement further announced that it has adopted Steppingstone Hospice as part of its community programmes, committing to a monthly donation of toilet paper for 1 year.

Azania Movement leaders will conduct home visits to patients receiving hospice care in their homes, extending support to families beyond the facility.

In addition, psychologists who are part of the Azania Movement will provide counselling and psychosocial support to parents and caregivers.

Speaking during the visit, President Nolubabalo Mcinga said:

“Dignity is not measured by how long one lives, but by how deeply one is cared for. A humane society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable, and as Azania, we are committed to turning compassion into action.”

The visit reaffirmed Azania’s commitment to the inclusion, dignity, and rights of persons with disabilities, including their right to full participation in society.

From Compassion to Action. From Emancipation to Solutions.

The visit followed the Sgwili20YearsLater Celebration event which he hosted on the 8th of November 2025 at the PMB Royal Show Grounds in PMB and the learners were invited to be part of the celebration and rendered a musical item.

“I started this NPO years ago because I wanted to prove to people leaving with albinism that you can be anything that you want in life. It doesn’t matter whether you’re living with albinism or not but the truth of the matter is that we are the same and the opportunities out there are also meant for us too,” he said.

Sgwili was accompanied by his industry friends and partners.

Sigwili said that the aim of this visit was to celebrate the learners and also formulate a long term relationship with the school.

“We will be having a long time partnership assisting the school in music and other necessarilys. I love them and I’ll ensure that their voices are heard. I want them to believe in themselves that they can be anything they want. I want them to know that they are special and that they also deserve all the good things in the world like any other people,” he said.

Blaxall school is a special school with learners that are vision impaired and that are without sight completely.

Sigwili said that they brought a 65 inch tv with packs of cosmetics for the learners and the school have all the grades.
