The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg ratified a plea and sentence agreement after Lomas admitted to paying more than R2.6 million in bribes to former Eskom managers France Hlakudi and Abram Masango to secure work for Tubular Construction Projects. The 79-year-old British businessman, extradited from the UK in 2024, received a wholly suspended sentence after the court considered his age, poor health, remorse, time already served and his agreement to testify against his co-accused.
