Suspended Top Cop Shadrack Sibiya Allegedly Used Strip Club Ties to Bypass Underage Restrictions

Fresh allegations have emerged in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court during the ongoing bail application of suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya.

The prosecution alleges that Sibiya utilized personal connections and deception to sneak underage teenagers into a restricted Sandton entertainment venue.

According to court testimonies, Sibiya reportedly took a group of young women to The Grand strip club in Sandton, an establishment with a strict 21-year-old age restriction.

The state alleges that because the girls were legally underage and barred from entering, Sibiya explicitly requested favors from his personal friend, who happens to be the owner of the business, to circumvent security protocols.

Further evidence presented by the state’s first witness, Detective Sergeant Nokukhanya Ndlovu, indicated that Sibiya allegedly lied to the venue’s staff and instructed the teenagers to falsely claim they were inside celebrating a birthday.

The court also heard that the girls were initially unaware they were being taken to a strip club.

These details form part of a broader, high-profile criminal case against the 59-year-old top cop, who was arrested at the same Sandton strip club on September 21, 2026. Sibiya currently faces five serious charges:Rape of an 18-year-old woman, Human Trafficking, Sexual Grooming of a Child (involving a 16-year-old victim) and Negligent handling of a firearm

The prosecution contends that on the night of the alleged rape in May 2026, Sibiya plied the young women with alcohol at the venue’s restaurant before moving them to a nearby hotel.

Sibiya has strongly denied all charges brought against him, claiming they are politically motivated and “trumped up” to damage his career.

In his responding affidavit, he maintained that his sexual encounter with the 18-year-old complainant was entirely consensual.

The State continues to oppose bail, citing critical concerns over potential witness intimidation, given Sibiya’s senior position in law enforcement, and a possible flight risk.

The formal bail hearing remains underway in Johannesburg.
