Suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi is back in the spotlight as he appears in court over serious allegations involving explosives, police dockets, ammunition, unsecured firearms, theft, defeating the ends of justice, and alleged evidence tampering.
Nkosi, who was previously referred to as “Witness F” at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, was arrested after a raid at his Pretoria North home allegedly uncovered several police dockets, a stun grenade, live ammunition, cash, and unsecured firearms.
The case has now deepened, with fresh allegations linking Nkosi to a 2022 Thohoyandou case involving dagga, firearms, and explosives. Police allege that he falsely claimed to be from Head Office, removed an original docket, and interfered with an exhibit bag containing confiscated dagga.
His bail was denied after the court found that he could potentially interfere with witnesses and undermine the justice process.
This case raises major questions about police corruption, docket tampering, internal SAPS accountability, and whether rogue elements inside law enforcement are being exposed.
