Media Statement HARRISMITH – Police urgently seek public assistance and information after a 42-year-old man from Intabazwe near Harrismith was allegedly shot and killed by unknown suspects and fled with his white bakkie when he was busy filling water into containers at his sister’s place at Mohlakeng. It’s alleged that on Thursday, 27 March 2025, at about 20:00, the victim arrived at his sister’s place to fill containers with water from the outside tap since at his place as there was no running water. As he was busy filling up the containers, gun shots were heard, and it was discovered that he had been shot and his white Isuzu bakkie, with registration number CCT 840 FS, was stolen. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle was last seen on the R714 in the direction of Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal. A case of murder and theft of motor vehicle is being investigated.
