Suspect(s) sought after a woman was found brutally murdered in Bultfontein

FREE STATE – Police in Bultfontein are investigating a case of murder after a half-naked lifeless body of an 86-year-old woman was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in Phahameng, Bultfontein.

On Saturday, 4 January 2025, at about 10:55 police were summoned to a murder scene in Phahameng, Bultfontein. On arrival, they discovered a woman lying in the outside toilet in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds on her back and neck. She was declared dead on the scene. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.

Police investigations are underway.

Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) to contact Detective Sergeant Thapelo Maleka of the Bultfontein Detective Services on cellphone number 082 301 2992 or the Crime Stop Number 08600 10111 or alternatively information can be sent through the MySAPS App.
