Media Statement CAPE TOWN – Following a robbery that was reported at Lwandle police station on Thursday, 05 December 2024, police members embarked on a search for the suspects which led them to an informal dwelling in the Polile informal settlement where the members found a 9mm pistol with six rounds of ammunition, a pair of handcuffs and pepper spray hidden under the bed. They have arrested two suspects, aged 26 and 30, for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as presumed stolen property. Meanwhile, Lwandle police arrested a 31-year-old man on a charge of murder after the body of an unknown female, believe to be in her twenties, was found in a ditch in Magatya Street, Asanda Village on Thursday at about 07:00. The victim’s body was discovered by a member of the public who alerted the police. The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation. The suspects are due to appear in the Strand Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged. Ends
