Media Statement CAPE TOWN – Continued efforts to rid our streets from illegal firearms which pose a threat to the safety of our communities, yielded positive results with the arrests of suspects and the seizures of firearms and ammunition. Members attached to Maitland Flying Squad and Delft CPU joined forces last night in search of a wanted suspect in a house robbery case. A premises situated near the corner of Koosboom and Tarmarisk Streets was searched upon which the members seized a Rossi revolver without a serial number. Two suspects, both 39 years of age, were arrested and detained at Delft SAPS on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, and are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court once they have been charged.
