WESTERN CAPE – The determination of members of the Western Cape police to rid communities of the illegal possession of firearms and drugs yielded success during crime prevention initiatives on Saturday, 13 July 2024. Members of Operation Shanela searched a premises in Brown’s Farm, Nyanga where they arrested two males aged 25 and 29 when they found a home made zip gun with ammunition in the house. Furthermore, the members searched a premises in Philippi East where they found 40 small transparent plastic packets containing dagga. A 66-year-old man was arrested for the possession of dagga. The suspects are due to make their respective court appearances in the Athlone Magistrates’ court today. Ends
