WESTERN CAPE – Members attached to Delft SAPS noticed a suspicious vehicle in front of a known drug house in Minnesota Street Eindhoven, Delft. When the occupant noticed the police vehicle approaching he fled the scene and a short high speed chase ensued. The vehicle was stopped in Main Road, Delft South. The driver and vehicle were searched and two bags of mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime were found in the vehicle.
Two thousand mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R60 000 were confiscated. A 34-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.
Members attached to Anti-Gang Unit received information from a reliable source of a firearm hidden at a premises in Gregory Street, Eindhoven. The members followed up on the information and arrested a 21-year-old suspect for the possession of a 9mm firearm and ammunition.
Both suspects are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court.
