WESTERN CAPE – The swift response by members of Malmesbury police led to the arrest of an adult male for the illegal possession of a firearm in Langa Libalala Street, Ilingelethu, Malmesbury on Sunday, 28 April 2024. The members received information about a suspect that was involved in a business robbery and who is in possession of firearm at the mentioned address. A search of the premises was conducted and a 9 mm pistol and ammunition were confiscated. The suspect will appear in the Malmesbury Magistrates’ court once he has been charged. Furthermore, members of the Milnerton Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 38 year old foreign national when he was caught with drugs in Rugby, Milnerton on Saturday evening. The members responded to information about drugs that are being sold at an address in Husser Road and ensued with a search of the identified premises. The members confiscated mandrax tablets, crystal meth and a undisclosed amount of cash believe to be the proceeds of crime in the room. The suspect faces a charge of dealing in drugs.
He will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court today.
