Media Statement WELKOM – A manhunt has been launched for an unknown man with a Lesotho accent who is wanted for rape of a 28-year-old woman on Sunday, 24 September 2023 at about 01:00. The woman reported that she was from a club in Welkom CBD waiting for a taxi outside when an unknown man grabbed her and forcefully walked with her towards a mall while threatening to kill her. The suspect allegedly undressed her and raped her. A case of rape was registered for further investigation. An Identikit of the suspect was compiled. He is dark in complexion, of medium build, about 1,7m in height. He was wearing a black beanie, black jersey, blue jeans and black sneakers.
