Suspect to appear in court for murder of her ex-boyfriend

POTCHEFSTROOM – A 30-year-old suspect has been arrested for the alleged murder of her 40-year-old ex-boyfriend in Dihatshwane village, just outside Mahikeng on Friday morning, 19 July 2024. 

Her arrest emanates from an incident that allegedly occurred on Thursday evening, 18 July 2024, after her ex-boyfriend called and invited her to his place of residence. On her arrival conflict allegedly ensued, where after the accused strangled the victim and stabbed him on his chest. She then fled the scene.

After informing a family member the next morning, the police were informed. After the discovery of the deceased, the suspect was arrested and is expected to make her first appearance on a charge of murder before the Mmabatho Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 July 2024.

The Provincial Police Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, congratulated the Mahikeng police for their quick response that led to this arrest.
