Media Statement POLOKWANE – A 25-year-old male suspect believed to have stolen a motor vehicle at Cullinan east of Pretoria, Gauteng province was arrested in Rakgoadi policing area near Motetema in the Sekhukhune District on Thursday, 06 June 2024. The suspect was arrested by the members of SAPS Rakgoadi while performing crime prevention duties. The officers followed the suspicious silver VW Polo without registration numbers to the local filling station. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen at Cullinan Police Station in February (2024). The driver alleged that he bought the vehicle from a certain man in Pretoria. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the members for being ever alert , which resulted in the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the vehicle. The suspect is currently in police custody and will appear before Motetema Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 10 June facing a charge of possession of presumed stolen property.
