Suspect in court for alleged conspiracy to commit murder

NORTH WEST – Harvey Moroka (49) appeared before the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 05 June 2024, on a charge of conspiracy to commit Murder.

Reports revealed that in April 2024, the Klerksdorp based Hawks’ Cash-in-Transit Task Team received information about a suspect who was looking for a hitman to kill a person whom he allegedly had a dispute over a family farm located in Potchefstroom.

The information was operationalised and contact was made with the suspect and it was established that he was planning to kill the victim for an agreed payment of R20 000.

Following an investigation, a warrant of arrest was issued and executed on Tuesday, 04 June 2024 during a takedown operation.

He appeared before Court and the case was postponed to 12 June 2024 for formal bail application.
