Suspect in 3-year-old boy’s murder appears in court

ZWELITSHA – A 35-year-old alleged murder suspect has been remanded in custody following his arrest on Sunday 16 June 2024 for the murder of a 3-year-old boy.

Siyanda Maguga appeared at the Sutterheim magistrate court today 18 June 2024 on a charge of murder. It is alleged that the suspect forcefully took his girlfriend’s 3-year-old child at Xholora outside Stutterheim in the early hours of Sunday morning, 16 June 2024, and left. The mother reported the incident to the police who searched for the suspect. He was later found in the area, and allegations are that he killed the child. He was immediately arrested

Circumstances surrounding the incident form part of the investigation.

He is remanded in custody to appear again at Stutterheim magistrate court on 20 June 2024 for a formal bail application.
