Suspect faces charges for the possession of drugs

CAPE TOWN – Members of Operation Shanela operationalised information they received of illicit drug activities at a premises in NY1, Gugulethu on Sunday evening. The members searched the identified premises and confiscated 491 ecstasy tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash. They arrested an adult female for the possession of drugs.

She will appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court once she has been charged.

Furthermore, members of Operation Restore were busy with stop and search operations in Brown’s Farm, when they searched an unknown male and found an imitation firearm with three shotgun and four .22 rounds of ammunition in his possession.  The 26-year-old man was arrested for the possession of an imitation firearm and the illegal possession of ammunition.

He will appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court today on the mentioned charges.
