Suspect face murder and possession of illegal firearm charges

WESTERN CAPE – Crime combatting operations in the Kraaifontein policing precinct yielded success when members of Public Order Police arrested a suspect who was caught in possession of a firearm on Saturday evening, 01 June 2024.

The members of Public Order Police were busy with crime prevention duties in Wallacedene when they came across a shooting incident in which a unknown man was fatally wounded. Members of the public pointed out the suspect who shot the victim. The suspect was subsequently arrested by the police members. The members seized the 9mm pistol with ammunition found in his possession. The 46 year old man face charges of murder and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges once he has been charged.
