Media Statement CAPE TOWN – Members of Kleinvlei Crime Prevention Unit responded to a complaint of a shooting in Forest Village, Eerste River on Saturday night, 16 November 2024, and while approaching the street address, they came under fire and the members retaliated. One suspect was wounded and another was arrested. Two firearms with ammunition were recovered. The arrested suspects face charges of the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and attempted murder. The wounded suspect was taken to a medical facility for medical treatment. Once charged the suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges. In an unrelated matter, members of the Anti-Gang Unit, deployed in Manenberg area due to the ongoing gang violence, arrested an adult male for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition on Saturday evening, 16 November 2024. The members searched a premises in Seine Walk, Manenberg and confiscated a firearm with 16 rounds of ammunition. The suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.
