Media Statement WESTERN CAPE – The commitment by members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit to get rid of illegal firearms and to ensure the safety of the community members by apprehending the offenders of the law yielded progressive results as the members apprehended a 27-year-year old man for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition. Reports reveal that on Wednesday, 13 November 2024 at around 23:05, members were doing crime prevention patrols in Delft when they received information about a person who is in possession of a firearm in Crane Street, N2 gateway, Delft. The members swiftly proceeded to the mentioned address and on arrival they searched the premises and found a 9mm pistol with its serial number filed off, and six 9mm rounds of ammunition. The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on the mentioned charge, once charged.
