Media Statement ILINGE – On 28 March 2025, Ilinge SAPS members arrested a 34-year-old suspect for allegations of unlawful possession of a firearm. It is alleged that police on duty on the aforementioned date received information about a person in possession of a firearm at a certain homestead at Ilinge location. Police operationalised the information and proceeded to the identified premises. Upon arrival, police members asked for permission to conduct a search of which it was granted. Upon a search, the police recovered and seized an unlicensed firearm with a serial number still intact. The suspect was arrested on the spot and will appear before Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Monday 31 March 2025. Further investigations will be conducted to determine whether the firearm cannot be linked to any criminal activities conducted previously. The District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph, is pleased by the determination by his foot soldiers in eradicating of crime. Ends
