Media Statement EASTERN CAPE – The Serious Corruption Investigation of the Hawks has successfully ensured that Sinazo Qusheka (35) appeared before the East London Magistrate’s Court on 14 November 2024 to face allegations of fraud. According to reports Qusheka along with her accomplices allegedly defrauded a complainant whose company purchased a 2006 Volvo grader from TRM Construction for over R900,000. Arrangements were made with Border Towing for the collection and delivery of the grader. However, it is alleged that Qusheka’s accomplices redirected the grader from Border Towing to another location before it reached its intended destination. The case was referred to the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation for further investigation. A detailed probe revealed that Qusheka’s accomplices allegedly registered the grader fraudulently under the name Wayotha Investment CC with Sinazo Qusheka acting as the proxy and representative. The investigation also uncovered that the suspects altered the original bank settlement letter by changing the bank name and replacing it with details of the Sharon Diversified Grader. Qusheka (35) appeared in the East London Magistrate’s Court on 14 November 2024, facing charges of fraud. The case has been postponed to the 14 January 2025 for further investigation. The Provincial Head of the Hawks Major General Mboiki Obed Ngwenya, praised the investigation team’s commitment and further pointed out that each arrest sends a powerful message to would-be offenders that crime has no safe haven.
