The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein will hear an appeal by President Cyril Ramaphosa challenging the Pretoria high court decision that declared the recognition of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as king of the amaZulu Nation as invalid. King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has been recognized as the king of the amaZulu Nation since 2020, despite the court’s decision. The court’s decision was based on the fact that there were other claimants to the throne.
